Rail route China — Uzbekistan
Khorgos and Alashankou — Tashkent: container trains from China to Uzbekistan
Container trains depart from major Chinese stations, run via the Khorgos or Alashankou crossings, are re-gauged in Kazakhstan and arrive at the Tashkent and Chukursay terminals. The most cost-efficient and stable option for large volumes.
Block trains — the most economical option for volume
Rail is the most economical way to ship large volumes from China to Uzbekistan. Block trains depart from fixed stations on a fixed schedule and are unaffected by weather en route. Cargo is loaded on 1435 mm standard gauge in China, re-gauged to 1520 mm in Kazakhstan (Khorgos — Altynkol or Alashankou — Dostyk) and then continues towards Tashkent. UZLogis books space for 20 ft and 40 ft containers as well as LCL groupage cargo.

Route stages
How a container travels.
1. Consolidation and loading
Cargo is consolidated and loaded into containers at major Chinese logistics hubs (Xi’an, Zhengzhou, Lianyungang, Chengdu, Chongqing).
2. Export clearance
The Chinese export declaration and the rail consignment note (SMGS) are issued.
3. Leaving China
The train crosses at Khorgos or Alashankou, where documents are checked and the train is accepted.
4. Re-gauging to broad gauge
In Kazakhstan (Altynkol or Dostyk) containers are transferred to 1520 mm gauge — this usually takes 4–8 hours.
5. Arrival in Tashkent
The train enters Uzbekistan via the Shymkent direction and arrives at the Tashkent and Chukursay terminals.
6. Customs and delivery
After clearance the cargo is distributed to any region of Uzbekistan.

Block train questions
Why is the gauge changed in Kazakhstan?
China uses 1435 mm rail gauge, while Kazakhstan and Central Asia use 1520 mm. Containers are therefore transferred to broad gauge at the border. This is a standard procedure that usually takes a few hours.
How long does it take to reach Tashkent?
From major Chinese stations to Tashkent it takes 10–14 days on average. The transit time depends on the departure station, border queues and customs procedures.
Which stations can cargo be delivered to?
The main stations are Tashkent (722400), Chukursay (720000) and Sergeli (723507). From there we can distribute cargo by road to any region of Uzbekistan.
Do I need a full container or can I ship groupage?
Both are possible: a 20 ft or 40 ft container (FCL) or LCL groupage. LCL suits clients starting with smaller consignments from 40 kg.
