On July 16, 2026, a new freight corridor took a major step forward when the first China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan (CKU) multimodal train left Jinhua South Railway Station in Zhejiang Province, eastern China. The train carried 100 TEUs of export cargo and is scheduled to reach Tashkent by combining rail and road transport across three countries.
The journey is designed as a true multimodal service. Containers first move by rail to Kashgar North Port in Xinjiang, then switch to trucks for the border crossing, and finally rejoin the rail network in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, before continuing to the Uzbek capital. The service is operated by China Railway Shanghai Group under a “one payment, one commission, one waybill” contracting model, which bundles cargo sourcing, container allocation and transport scheduling into a single agreement.
For shippers, the model offers clearer responsibility and easier coordination. The entire process, including rail transit and customs formalities, can be tracked through the 95306 digital platform.
